Granted it is not an exact description, but it is a glorious song none the less.

On second reflection, it would seem to more accurately fit the French revolution.

I highly doubt napoleon would be able to break out into a song xD but then again it wouldn't surprise me if he started doing break dance when he won any victorys in his lifetime lol

It's funny that you mention this, because the current claimant to headship of the House of Bonaparte - H.I.H. The Prince Napoléon - is actually an acquaintance of mine.

Tell him he needs to stop sweeping the streets he used to own, and go back to ruling the world. He needs to roll the dice and feel the fear in his enemies eyes. But when he does, he must remember the little people who are willing to be his generals.

I am actually a Legitimist and thus a supporter of the Bourbon Monarchy, as they are the true heirs to the French Throne, not this common General who presumed he could secure a Crown for himself and his descendants.

My allegiance is to Charlemagne. Now give me Western Europe.

The House of Bourbon is a cadet branch of the Capetian dynasty and they are again descendants of the Carolingian dynasty and thus of Charlemagne.

I picked Charlemagne because his sons divided his glorious empire, which became Britain, France and Germany. No other "dynasty" managed to recreate this empire hence while I choose to align myself with Charlemagne and not his unworthy descendents.

However if I were to support one line of monarchs it would be France's bourbon dynasty, who unlike Britian royals never agreed to something like the Magna Carta, instead our dear friend Louis XVI of France just kept drinking champagne, ignoring the revolution until the very end. That is my kind of monarch. He no doubt told himself: compromise? fuck them, I rule by divine will.
