A Good Star Trek Game
For those of us that think STO is the only Star Trek Game or have heard others speak fondly of the more traditional Trek games. I invite you to watch this video. Remember to put aside your graphical expectations and focus on the content. Content is where Star Trek shines.

Good ol' times!
Was on STO earlier with Artful tralking about the little Police ships you get to fly in SFCI. I got all nostaligic and started watching videos.. All the interplay/activision trek games are awesome. The immersion level is so convincing.

Couldn't agree more, I love the SFC series! The SFC2 intro video still beats all the others I have seen. A1, EF, SFC2-3 (These were truly amazing games). I just miss these kind of games but the reality is that gaming as a whole moved in a different direction and we're just not gonna see such ''simple but fun games''. It's all gonna be the big deal not just won't be as fun.
Thank you,

Re: A Good Star Trek Game
As far as graphics go, KA without a doubt has the most immersive graphics of any Star Trek game.
You have realistic trek style explosions and hull damage that is second to none, and you have properly scaled planets and various environments to fly around in ranging from asteroid fields to nebulas and planetary rings.
And the simulation is just as good, flying into a Star's corona or too deep into a planets gravity well or even spending too much time inside planteray rings can potentially destroy the ship.
The most epic thing ever would be a remake of KA that is the same but with modern graphics!

I loved playing the Romulans and Federation on SFCIII....I miss that game.

Re: A Good Star Trek Game
We can still play SFC3 online, we should organize a match sometime, 3 versus me or something of the sort to even the odds.
Thank you,

Diference of opinion. I think A1 is the best trek game but I have always been partial to RTS games.

Re: A Good Star Trek Game
Scartch my previous statement.
What would be epic is a modern graphics remake of KA in MMORPG form!!!
Seriously, its one of the few Star Trek games that had free-roaming right out of the box, being able to warp to pretty much any system of your choice.
And the simualtion is certainly deep and complex enough to appeal to the Hardcore Market like hte EvE crowd, provided a good economy system was implemented.
And what I especially like is the fact that KA deals with all its weapons as actual physical projectiles, no random number calculations.
Which means being a small Bird of Prey captain could actually be a viable playstyle.

Re: A Good Star Trek Game
You know what I think? We should start playing the ol' games again. The true Star Trek games. The games we used to play so many years ago, back in the 2000's and onward. The glorious times!Picard wrote:EVOXSNES wrote:Shroombuck wrote:This makes me wish to play it again and SFC I and II!
