I wish to say a Happy Birthday to Artful.
I hope that your aspirations flourish here and at home.
I know that every adversity is a mere challenge for you and am happy to see you move forward from them. Better and stronger.

Today. Birthdays seem to take a backseat but i see the value in arriving each year to that day. Each year is a victory. Survival seems to be a trivial thing in our Cities and Suburbs but long ago, you'd find yourself lucky to be alive in the new year. In a world of constant strife, it was a celebration of life.
But who really knows what Birthdays are for. The dangers are gone and the worlds aged.
There seems to be little merit in celebrating anyway...
Ahh but that is a mistake. Our lives are singularly important, regardless of targets met or challenge confronted. Beyond these linear things we create to busy ourselves, there are Friendships, Family, Traditions, Associations, Kingships, kindred spirits and all the rest of them. They matter and they, as a matter of course, dictate, that we shall celebrate your Birthday. In direct contravention of any just deserts or any other aspect you'd like to assign, Dear Fellow... Yes.
So... Happy Birthday Artful. And a Happy Birthday to you all.
