Re: MechWarrior Online
I recall I used to play MechWarrior 3 back in 1999.
I sometimes wish we would find ourselves in the 90's right now. Games seemed so much more sophisticated back in those days. Perhaps not graphic wise, but certainly gameplay wise. At the turn of the century the gaming industry decided to shift their attention towards graphics instead of gameplay.
Most unfortunate indeed.

Pimple-faced basement dwellers would rather get their hands on something that looks pretty because they can't get their hands on someone that looks pretty.

Re: MechWarrior Online
The last time I actually played the game....
While not the same game I always thought this was an inspiration to MechW.
Crescent Hawks: Inception
This is the first Battletech game on the PC. Released by Infocom/Westwood in 1988.
The story is about a young MechWarrior pilot by the name of Jason Youngblood. He starts out with a famous name in the Commonwealth because of the fame of his father. This gets him into a good MechWarrior training school and somehow audiences with the Archon, but unfortunately with the attack on the planet his father goes missing.
Ha then this afternoon I found this at "Walmart" for $9.99
Complete story. I was glued to the TV during the 80s

Good stuff!
