If Renegades goes well that could be a good hope too - I think we're in a great place for new Trek at the moment - just as long as no one cocks it up.

For several years now, series have been the source of quality, well written and deep stories. Movies seem to serve the purpose of the being the easy money source. Fast pace, big action movie oriented on CGI instead of characters is what we've seen from pretty much every studios. This includes Paramount and Star Trek. Hopefully, a new series will bring back a TNG feel to the franchise.

I hope that its not a reboot of TNG because the original of anything is always better. A fresh canvas i think would be best, along with that confidence and professionalism.
