I am sorry, but who are you to make a snap judgment? Shroombuck is a friend to many of us and while he does have his moments, he cares about this fleet and he has immense pride in it.

What is an unbiased third-party opinion? That is an impossibility in this instance. Shroombuck speaks his mind, and once you know that you can know he is someone with which you will never be misled and that makes him probably more honest than the average visitor. You should also take note that Shroombuck has no real position of leadership, his voice is heard but that is the extent of it, and if you saw him as JAG you would find he is extremely professional.

You have an agenda but claim to be unbiased, you publicly decry him instead of PMing us about him. You are actually making the matter more serious than it is and without any consideration or thought to privacy.

I'm sorry did we ring and ask for the god of Trek gaming to stop by? How arrogant do you have to be to assume an entire fleet dedicated to pure Trek gaming has never played KA in any number?

Maybe before wildly criticising other people you should examine your own behaviour because you hardly walk a superior line given that post. Shroombuck may be candid and rude but he is not nefarious nor condescending. If you took time to get to know him, perhaps you wouldn't make judgments so easily.

One should keep in mind that leading a fleet is also respecting diversity. The comments Shroombuck made were not insulting to you he is simply doing what he likes to do. I don't know if you've noticed but Star Trek gaming isn't what it used to be and we must all find ways to cope with boredom.

Shroombuck is very ''unique'' and we respect and appreciate the uniqueness of all our officers and visitors as long as they respect our code of conduct.

Are there any mitigating circumstances? Not really, unless any circumstances (in other words, context) can be regarded as mitigating. And before you judge, although you have probably already done so, go away and write down the four worst things you have done to a partner, even if - especially if - your partner doesn't know about them. Shrommy would had been punished for such a comment. I have enough of one to deal with. You are a flag officer, act accordingly. Lets not forget this fleet was formed on mutual respect, visitors are also entitled to respect. When insulted one does not have to lower himself to petty arguments and insults. There are many ways to speak his mind without using the vocabulary you did.
