Greetings from Lotus Fleet

Post by Jeff T »

Greetings from Lotus Fleet,

I have been in communication with Commodore Bailo since December. He has recently been appointed an ambassador into our fleet to begin open communication between our fleets.

Our website can be found here: http://www.lotusfleet.org/

Feel free to come by and visit and say hello. We have even discussed having joint STO events together with members from both fleets.

Sincerely,

Admiral Jeff T

Thank you all thus far for your kind welcomes.

To give you some background on our fleet, I am borrowing a summation of a welcoming introduction from our former FCO and current RP Director Admiral Kheren.

Lotus Fleet is an online community dedicated to Star Trek in general and to Star Trek Online in particular, with strong activities in the text-based roleplaying world and a noticeable presence in several other games and MMOs as well. We also like to stage our own events and activities, in-game and on our lively forum as well and welcome help and involvement as much as enjoyment and fun from all our members and at every levels of our little community.

Upon joining Lotus Fleet, you will assigned the starting rank of Ensign or Lieutenant J.G., depending on whether you have graduated successfully from our Academy. Volunteering your time for the Fleet is certainly welcomed. Dedicating yourself to work for others in any of the numerous positions we have within the fleet is how you may rise within our chain of command above the starting rank. But this is wished for, not mandatory. As a member of Lotus Fleet, you are only expected and required to bring the richness of your own individuality as often as you can to this Collective, be it only on the forum or in-game.

At Lotus Fleet, we strive for a friendly, mature, relaxed and yet respectful and polite atmosphere, guided by the very principles of openness, tolerance and sharing promoted by the United Federation of Planets and those of honor, integrity and dedication of the Klingon Empire as well. Look at the kind of relationships you saw in Star Trek between the officers of the starship Enterprise and the dynamic, disciplined and respectful attitude of a Worf or a Martok and you have to look no further to see what we are striving for.

Like the lotus, the pure white flower that can emerge and bloom over even the murkiest waters, this 25th century fleet endeavors in the imaginary universe of Gene Roddenberry to rise above the dubious morals and fatalistic pessimism of the later times of the 24th Century to make once again Starfleet a shining beacon of hope for of a better universe, for a better future, now. And of this imaginary vision, this fleet, as a web community, strives to make these ideals something real, something to live and strive for, even if only for the few hours spent here between us.

Indeed, since our founding in 2008 following the first project of a Star Trek MMO by Perpetual, and throughout the years that followed with the advent of STO under the Cryptic banner, we have prided ourselves to be more than merely gamers and role players in the Star Trek universe; we have defined ourselves as nothing less than Starfleet officers of the 21st century.

Quite a bold statement, to be sure. But once you will join this community and share the passion and the fun, but also the very real camaraderie and helpfulness with each and every member of this community, you should come to see that it might just be possible to get there, to truly boldly go where no one has gone before.

And this all starts with your help, your efforts and your enjoyment here, within Lotus Fleet.
It is up to you to make it so.

Next star to the right... and straight on 'till morning.

Welcome to our forums Admiral, and apologies for my delay in reply. I have assigned you as a "Foreign Diplomat" to FC. We too have strived to be more than merely gamers or roleplayers, we are a community of friends, and we like to meet like-minded individuals like yourselves.

Thank you Lieutenant Commander Silverado and Commodore Bailo for your kind welcome, and also to Vice Admiral Jesse for granting me the honor to serve as a "Foreign Diplomat" to FC.

I would like to invite each of you to post a response to our new Diplomacy branch of the Lotus Fleet.
http://lotusfleet.org/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=722

This will allow each fleet two forums (FC & Lotus Fleet) in which to exchange communication.

In addition, this can also serve as a means to bring more activity and engagement to both of our sites.

I look for to continual communication between our fleets!

Sincerely,

Admiral Jeff T
Lotus Fleet Commanding Officer
