Prelude to Axanar

Post by Costello »

Prelude to Axanar has been released. It stars Trek and BSG actors and aims to represent the quality of Trek we all enjoy. I haven't viewed it yet, but it has received positive reviews.

Yeah. There will be a full-length feature following this 20 minute glimpse.

I love how they have provided deserving build up to the D7 which was an absolute beast for the KDF in that era.

Glad to see you're now following this too Artful. I think what they have done is really good. Trek is so many different things for so many different people, and it's great that this is in no way abrams-trek like.

This is really surprising. It's been a while since I saw something new that truly had a ''Star Trek'' vibe. I'll donate money for this.
Thank you,

To me it feels more like a Halo-style approach to Trek. The retrospective interviews are reminiscent of the cinematics in the prelude to the release of Halo: Reach.

Regardless it takes JJ-Trek out into the back yard and pummels it into the earth until it is unrecognisable from the style over substance franchise manure that was produced in its wake. D7 battle-cruisers and TOS era fleet engagement, what's not to like?

I loved the interview style. As much as it isnt Trek, it is refreshing amongst the strange world that has become JJ Trek.

It's a film - actually looks really good. Better than Renegades which makes me cringe.

The documentary format of the prelude works really well, by the end I was on the edge of my seat. Very impressed.

The fact they build it up, bring you ever so closer to attaining that prize of seeing that very first Constitution class starship. The starship Enterprise.

The tease was pretty damn good. We all knew I am sure from the second they mentioned a prototype near the end. Even before they had shown any scene pertaining to the construction that it was the Enterprise.
